It was hard to believe that it had just happened. I was way into Grand Theft Auto when it started freezing and that is when I got the horrendous three red rings of death, or RROD. What had just happened to my beloved game unit? I didn’t think it would happen to my game console, but I know that the Xbox is so unreliable.
I called my friend that games and asked him if it had ever happened to his unit. He said that it keeps happening to so many Xbox 360 owners and that Microsoft takes very long to fix it. Apparently the unit can often overheat making it stop working. Recently Microsoft can’t be bothered to send out a container to mail it back to them. So now you are sitting there with a disabled Xbox (which is because of their terrible construction and design) and end up having to ship it in.
If you are wanting to head off this awful situation, check out the following tips.
1.) Try to situate your Xbox in a location with generous air flow. My Xbox 360 was located inside of an entertainment cabinet, and so I went to check out what had taken place I detected that the spot was way too hot. Over-heating is the main problem, so try moving it somewhere more air-cooled.
2.) If you do happen to get the three red rings try shutting down your console and let it rest and cool off for an hour or two. Move it somewhere with better airflow and unplug everything that is connected to your Xbox 360. Then try powering your console back on after it has cooled down for some time. I hope this will keep you operating and keep you from having to mail it in to Microsoft.
