My online is so slow when I go online and play Gears of war 2. I move my stick but until 5 sec later it moves on the tv. I know it’s the tv not the lag. Even when I am not online. I also have the new xbox 360 slim. What should I do? I have a Toshiba 46″ style 46g300u3. Do I need to buy a HDMI cord? Please please help.

  1. The TV can’t possibly affect your lag.

The HDMI is nice because it supports digital sound and is 1080P compatable – unlike the five RCA cables you need, this ONE cable transmits both audio / video.

It’s a digital USB cable and the big advantage over other cable types (such as RCA) is that distance has virtually no effect on it (need to go around 50 to 100 feet before you might suffer a hiccup) so if it’s working at all – you’re fine.

Remember that online you’re playing off a host – if that person is trying to cheat than s/he may be deliberately using a WAIT / PAUSE / LAG button to win matches by frustrating opponents. Or you could simply have a poor connection.

Connection – are you playing wirelessly? If so then you’re vulnerable to a few issues.

Think of the network in your house as a faucet – how many device are drawing from it at home? PHONES, LAPTOPS, DESKTOPS, CONSOLES (Wii / BluRay, etc), PORTABLES – for that matter – is it secure (password protected or open for use by neighbors?).

You mention this is only online and for that reason I do not think there’s anything wrong with your controller.

  2. try buying the hd cord if the problem persist contact your internet provider and explaining them you are having some issues playing to see if there’s a problem with the service.

  3. 250gb xbox 360 is beest gaming consoles.

    Xbox 360 S Pros

    – Nearly silent when compared with the original 360.

    – Smaller with a slimmer look.

    – Built in wireless N and its fast.

    – Integrated optical audio.

    – 5 usb ports.

    – Internal, but easily accessible 250gb HDD on the bottom of the console.

    – Uses half the power of the original.

    – Works with most of the old accessories, including the transfer cable.

    Xbox 360 S cons

    – The IR receiver is located lower on the console and appears to have a narrower field. So depending on setup using a remote maybe a headache.

    – Only comes with standard def av cables.

    – Does not use the old memory cards or hard drives.

    – Touch sensitive buttons that when touch emit a soft tone.

    – Kinect ready socket in the back.
